Chocolate Filling:
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1 1/2 cups white granulated sugar
- 2 ounces good quality unsweetened baking chocolate, melted and cooled
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 4 large eggs pasteurized, at room temperature
1-9" pre-baked pie shell OR
Meringue Crust:
- 3 large egg whites at room temperature
- pinch salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
Garnish:
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 tablespoons creme de cacoa
- Optional: a tablespoon of chocolate shavings or coca nibs for extra garnish.
