A summer afternoon poolside or Friday evening sunset calls for this refreshing Blueberry Basil Mojito. I first experienced this cocktail at one of my favorite downtown Manchester restaurants Cotton. (See my Cotton post here.) So beautiful and tasty, slightly sweet and so refreshing. I knew I’d order it again. Months later, Jon and I went out to celebrate the Through Her Looking Glass launch. Guess what I ordered?
You bet, this very Blueberry Basil Mojito.
Whether relaxing on the patio or poolside, this cocktail doesn’t disappoint. The recipe is adapted from the Cotton Restaurant cocktail recipe and uses original Cold River Blueberry Vodka from Maine Distilleries in Freeport.
Muddle fresh basil, lemon and granulated sugar. Add ice, Cold River Blueberry Vodka and Cointreau. Top off with soda water. Stir to mix. Garnish with fresh fruit skewers and a festive straw.

Mmmm… That does sound refreshing! Now if the weather would warm up a bit for the May long weekend, I’d like to try this recipe as it was intended – enjoying a “Friday evening sunset” in the fresh air. (Ps – I started to write a previous comment, but it disappeared! Sorry if it’s a duplicate!)

Hoping our weather will warm up here also! It was in the 50’s yesterday and there was actually a frost warning today. Really??? Hope we both get our sunset drink soon…have a beautiful day!

My basil is coming in big time now, and you’ve given me a nice alternative to my standby pesto for using it! Gotta go get some of that blueberry vodka!
